Ok, so I would first recreational tree climbing with ropes, spurs not. I am a climber and I have quite a bit of experience in rigging and anchors on the rise rope. My question is: "Do I need an arborist rope to climb trees, so I have all the other gear Why? I can not simply use a 7 / 16 "static rope? The reason I ask is because many of my blocker probably will not work on the rope arborist, and I do not want to buy a new piece of equipment when I have what I think I have already. Moreover, what is a buckstrap for? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

so i'm trying to figure out how Ascenders work. So if your climbing and your using an Ascenders and its locked to the rope and you let go and fall back is the Ascenders going to hold your weight if it attached to your harness or are you going to fall
The ascenders are attached to your harness. You hold them to slide them up the rope as you progress. If you let go of the ascenders or put weight on them, they lock onto the rope. The point of ascenders is that they will only slide in one direction
