The motion to grant the community advisory group’s appeal denying that environmental studies done on the project were sufficient was made by First District City Councilwoman Sherri Lightner. She is a past chair of the La Jolla Shores Association.

Councilman Kevin Faulconer cast the lone dissenting vote and Councilman Tony Young was absent.

“The applicants knew, very early on, that community groups were strongly opposed to the project,” said Lightner. “They opted not to work with these groups or to make any changes to their project to try to reach a compromise.”

How do I drive from La Jolla to El Cajon during evening traffic without hitting the traffic on route 52?

I need to be in El Cajon at 6:30 pm and I end up having to get on 52 in La Jolla by 5:30 to make it on weekdays. I can make the drive in about 20 minutes outside of rush hour. Would I be better off taking I-5/I-805to I-8 East, or is 52 better? Please

You take the 8 freeway! It's worth a try. My husband usually gets off at 2:30 so he'd take the 52. However, when it gets past 3:30 or so he takes the 805 south to the 8 to get home. Either way you'll gt traffuc during rush hour. But I think it goes
